Fire safety with Balderstone Library!

Join us at Balderstone Library for a Fire Safety Morning, including:


  • A talk and advice on fire safety and prevention from the Fire Service.
  • Children's crafts and things to do.
  • Stories for children.

And a visit from the fire engine!

A cup of coffee at Langley Library

a cup of coffeeLangley Library is now having a regular coffee morning, held on the last Monday of every month between 10.30am and 11.30am.

At our first coffee morning on Monday 29 March 2010 you will be able to receive free health advice from local NHS Health Trainers. Or just come along to read a book or have a chat and meet new people in a cosy environment.

Everybody is welcome, we look forward to seeing you!

Storytelling course

You don’t have to be great at reading to tell a brilliant story.

Rochdale Libraries and Touchstones Rochdale are offering a free Storytelling Course for Parents and Carers. Starting on Monday 6 July and ending with a celebration party for all the family on Saturday 26 September the six sessions will explore Storytelling in its many forms.

Teahouse discussion

A favourite pastime across Asia and other parts of the world, "teahouse discussions" provide an opportunity for people to talk about relevant and contemporary issues on a theme of protest while sampling a selection of teas.

A lively group joined us this evening at the Wheatsheaf Library to discuss whether or not the media's portrayal of Rochdale: "Rochdale - Scrounge capital of the UK?" is the true picture.
